I have come to recognize the truth within burnout. Burnout is the innate appeal of your mind that tries to destroy your soul and reset it. It lets you question about everything you’ve done and every action you’re going to take. Maybe it’s because you have done some overwhelming tasks that really exhaust your mental power, or maybe it’s because you are facing a huge amount of pressure and want to run away from it. Regardless of the cause, the truth is your brain is fucked up. It doesn’t want you to quit or relax; instead, it is trying its best to destroy you and force you to rest for a long period of time. That is not going to happen, so I've developed a procedure to counteract the situation. Here are three steps you can take on when experiencing a severe burnout.
1. Recognize burnout
First, you need to recognize what is going on. Sometimes you are just lazy, and you don’t want to step outside the comfort zone. This is not a burnout, which is when you want to go for the hard tasks but struggling to really do so. You may not feel your heart and lost every motive to do anything, and that is when you know you are having a burnout. Remember, your mind has the desire to destroy you and it tries to do so whenever it wants.
2. Stop the self-destruction program
Secondly, you have to halt the self-destruction program and say to yourself: “I will not let you destroy my calloused mind. I am in control of my own mind. Nothing is going to destroy me!” Knowing that you have negative feeling because of your mind, you need to let him know that you understand what he’s up to and that is not going to happen. Shut down the program that has started and execute the “Stay hard” program.
3. Stay hard!
Last, do the hard work. Prove it to yourself that you are capable of enduring more adversity, suffer and pain than your mind thinks you can. Outwork yourself.
Conclusion
Burnout is not insurmountable. Your mind inhibits you from reaching your true limits. Master your mind by recognizing its intentions and defy it.
